Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Astro Vistara (“we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data when you visit this website or request an astrological consultation with Acharya Krishan Goswami. It has been prepared with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and its related rules in mind.
The details you share for a consultation, especially your birth details and personal questions, deserve to be handled with care and discretion. By using this website or submitting your information, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.
Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to respond to your enquiry and provide a consultation. This may include your name, phone or WhatsApp number and email address; your date, time and place of birth; the service you are interested in and your preferred language; and any questions or concerns you choose to share with us.
If you seek guidance for another person, such as a family member, please share their details only with their knowledge and permission. When web pages load, your browser also sends basic technical information (such as your IP address and browser type), which our hosting and service providers process so that the website can function and remain secure.
How We Use Your Information
Your personal data is used only for the purposes for which you provided it: to respond to your enquiry, schedule and confirm your consultation, prepare and analyse your birth chart, conduct the consultation and follow up with you about it.
We do not use your birth details or personal questions for advertising, profiling or any purpose unrelated to your consultation. We may also process information where this is required to comply with applicable law.
Your Consent
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you tick the consent box and submit the booking form, or when you contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email and share your details. Your consent is limited to the purposes described in this policy.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us at the email address shown on our Contact page. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out, but without the necessary details we may be unable to continue with a consultation. If you are under 18, please contact us only with the involvement and consent of a parent or lawful guardian.
Communication by WhatsApp, Email and Phone
When you submit the booking form, your browser may open WhatsApp with a pre-filled message containing the details you entered, which is sent only when you choose to send it. We may contact you by phone, WhatsApp or email to confirm bookings, share consultation-related information and answer your questions. We will not send you unrelated promotional messages without your consent.
Messages sent through WhatsApp or email are also handled by those service providers under their own terms and privacy policies. Please share over these channels only the information you are comfortable sending.
Sharing, Third-Party Services and No Sale of Data
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.
To run the website and communicate with you, we rely on a small number of service providers, such as a website hosting provider, a form-processing service that delivers booking requests to us, WhatsApp and email services, and Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces used on this site and may receive your IP address when the fonts load. These providers process data under their own privacy policies, and we share only what each one needs for its purpose.
We may disclose information where required by law, by a court order or by a lawful request from a government authority.
Cookies and Browser Storage
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The only information we store in your browser is your language preference (English or Hindi), saved in your browser's local storage so that the site opens in your chosen language on your next visit. It contains no personal details and stays on your device.
You can clear this preference at any time through your browser settings. Third-party services such as Google Fonts may process limited technical data, as described in their own policies.
Data Retention and Security
We keep your personal data only for as long as it is needed for your consultation and any reasonable follow-up, or for as long as we are required to retain it under applicable law. When it is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised. You may also ask us to delete your information sooner.
We take reasonable security safeguards to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse, and we limit access to those who need it to provide your consultation. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, but if a personal data breach affecting you occurs, we will take the steps required by applicable law, including informing you and the relevant authority where required.
Your Rights
Subject to the DPDP Act, you have the right to obtain a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is being processed; to ask us to correct, complete or update inaccurate or incomplete data; to request erasure of data that is no longer needed; to withdraw your consent at any time; and to nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
You also have the right to have your grievances addressed. To exercise any of these rights, write to us at the email address shown on our Contact page. We will respond within a reasonable time and may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Contact, Grievances and Changes to This Policy
For any questions, privacy requests or concerns about how your data is handled, please contact us at the email address shown on our Contact page. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India in accordance with the DPDP Act.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the date of the most recent update shown at the top.
